SUMMARY:ECOLOGY EVENT - Tree Planting
DESCRIPTION:Northamptonshire Sport are looking for 15 adult volunteers (over 18s only please) to plant 130 trees\, (saplings at 30cm high) on Sunday 2nd April 2023 at 1300 hours. We are trying to improve the ecology at Northampton Bike Park by planting copse and woodland areas. You will have the opportunity to work in a small team to plant up to 10 saplings each\, by removing a small area of grass\, dig a hole\, plant the sapling and put the protective guard around it. A full briefing will be given on the day and tools will be available\, but if you want to bring your own\, please feel free. DESCRIPTION:WE HAVE HAD TO POSTPONE THIS EVENT FOR A SECOND TIME. EVEN THOUGH THE TRAILS WOULD OF BEEN READY IT WAS TOO LATE NOTICE TO SUCCESSFULLY RUN THE EVENT.\nWE WILL BE RESCHEDULING FOR THE SUMMER DATES TBC\nThe next ladies social ride has now been organised for Sunday 26th March 2023. Danielle from @girlsonwheelspodcast will be hosting it again and can’t wait to welcome old and new faces to the park.\n\n\n\nThe last ride was a great day\, connections were made and fun was had.  The weather in March can’t possibly be as wet as it was in October\, it maybe colder though so be sure to wrap up and wear plenty of layers⛄\n\nAs before this is for all abilities and all you need is a working bike and a helmet.\n\nMost excitingly we are welcoming Shawnee from @_shredlkeagirl https://shredgirl.com/to the event.  She will be joining us with all her goodies.  It is a great chance to meet Shawnee and check out her awesome kit in the flesh. SUMMARY:Christmas Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:Christmas Scavenger Hunt 19th-24th December\n5 naughty elves have stolen 4 of Santa’s reindeer from the North Pole. The Bike Park team have enlisted the help of some detectives; 3 Snowmen and 2 Gingerbread people are helping the Bike Park team to find them\, and there could be a big Secret helper too. Help the Bike Park team to find them all. There are 15 pictures of the 5 elves\, 4 reindeer\, 3 penguins\, 2 gingerbread people and 1 Secret helper in and around the Bike Park\, hidden high and low on the walking trail and multi-user trail. They elves and the Secret helper have been seen going for food and drinks at Delapre Golf Club\, so maybe worth a look over there too. \nSEE IF YOU CAN FIND THEM ALL! \n  \nExtra clues \nThe elves are hiding away but they haven’t crossed any of the bike trails to hide\, they’re not that naughty. The reindeer and helpers know to never stop on a trail either. \nYou will find them mainly in the East not West. They have been seen mainly around the park on the walking trail and multi-user. And someone told us that some of the elves and helpers are taking this opportunity to learn to ride a mountain bike\, so they might need the Skills area. \nStay away from Reds and Blacks. \nIf you’re riding a bike\, you won’t need to stop on any of the trails\, green\, blue\, red or black\, to take a photograph. \nIf you’re walking around the park\, it might be wet and please take care where you walk. \nFind any 1 of the 15 pictures and take a photograph of it with you and/or your family in it. (Please don’t move them or take them away though) Send it to us at info@northamptonbikebike.org with your name\, and an adults contact number. \nWe’ll pick 1 lucky winner from the photos we get\, and contact after Christmas Day\, if you are a winner. SUMMARY:British Cycling Led Rides
DESCRIPTION:The 4 mile route follows quiet backstreets before taking the cycle path (shared with pedestrians) along Rockingham Road. There is a gravel section with a slight incline that leads to the Prologis estate. The halfway stop is at the lovely Fox and Peony cafe before returning on shared cycle paths and quiet backstreets home. \nStarting from – The meeting point is at Rockingham Rd Pleasure Park NN16 9RJ (THREE LITTLE WORDS APP= dices\, occupy\, trace)\, NN16 9RG \nThe event begins at 11 am and ends at 1 pm. \nThis Led Rides in Northamptonshire ride is open for anyone to join \nRoad bike users and Hybrid bikes with road tyres might find negotiating the gravel path difficult.
