DESCRIPTION:What is Battle at the Bike Park? \nBattle at the Bike Park is a 3 hour XC mountain bike race that will take place at Northampton Bike Park.\nThis event is a collaboration between Outcast Racing\, Northampton Bike Park and the FNSS . \n\nThe Course\nThe course will utilise many of the bike park’s features including berms\, rollers and tabletops\, plus a woodland section featuring A and B line options. The park’s skills area will also be included in the course and is where the start/finish and pits are located. This ‘stadium section’ will also serve as a great viewing spot for spectators with prolonged views of the race. \n\nWhy Battle at the Bike Park?\nThe bike park is situated on the site of the original Battle of Northampton that took place in 1460. This historical skirmish was between the Lancastrians and the Yorkists and was part of the War of the Roses. DESCRIPTION:Calling all our talented young riders \nWe are running a 3 hour course to help young riders between ages 10 and 14 develop to the next level. \nThe aim would be to identify young riders who could be supported and develop their skills to be suitable for the Mountain Bike Gravity British Cycling Development Talent Pathway. \nThe course will be led by coach Ian Warby who has taught thousands of riders of all ages and abilities from beginners through to World Cup Riders\, sharing his insights\, knowledge\, passion and enthusiasm for Mountain Biking. \nOne thing is for sure the rider will come away riding faster and with more confidence. \nThis is not suitable for beginners. \nFull face helmets are recommended but not compulsory\, a helmet must be worn. Hosted by The Cycle Sistas\, who are an inclusive community group whose goal is to bring women of all ages\, abilities and backgrounds together through cycling. \nTrail Bloom Female Clothing Brand will also be there to sell their female centric bike wear. \nWe will also have Dr Bike at the park who are female led bike mechanics. They will be there to help with general maintenance eg. punctures etc. we are also pleased to say that there will be a a basic bike maintenance course in operation run by Women In Tandem\, this is limited to 10 places and is free to attend. You will need to book on through our system. DESCRIPTION:HELP NEEDED\n\n\n\nOn Saturday 30th March we are planning a big dig day to hopefully tackle the issues that have closed the black trails. We have some remedial work being carried out this week to help with bigger/deeper/wider ditches being built to divert water away from the problem areas.\n\n\n\nWe need volunteers to help with the actual repairs though. Our volunteers although brilliant are slightly outgunned and will need help to fix the issues.\n\n\n\nThis is open to anyone 18 or over in fairly good physical shape as it will be demanding work. You will need appropriate clothing and footwear\, tools etc will be supplied.\n\n\n\nAnyone who volunteers will get free parking for the dig day and also for the Sunday.\n\n\nAll participants to arrive for 9am for a safety briefing\, work to commence at 9.30am\n\n\nTo be able to help you MUST follow the instructions below.\n\n\n\n• contact info@northamptonbikepark.org\n• provide name\, age\, mobile and car reg\n• bring own drinks\, snacks etc\n• must have appropriate workwear\n• we have limited spaces so please be aware\n\n\n\nANYONE arriving on the day might be turned away depending on numbers\, you might still be able to help out but you wont receive free car parking as we need to book it beforehand.\n\n\n\nThanks from the NBP crew.
